Saltillo Pavers and Tiles

Mexican pavers are beautiful tiles which are made from natural clays that date back hundreds of years and create a warm rustic look. There are several types of Mexican pavers, including Lincoln pavers, Tecate tiles and the most common… Saltillo. Saltillo tiles are handmade by gifted artisans with primitive methods. Since these tiles are very porous, they can be stained to match any decor. The versatility of these tiles are endless. A 60 year old saltillo floor can be revived to look as if it were just installed. These tiles can be used on walls, floors, countertops and even outdoors.

As an alternative, Saltillo-type tiles are now manufactured at many places in Mexico, and high-fire “Saltillo look” tiles, many from Italy, compete with the terra-cotta originals.

NOTE: Monterrey Tile carries a Lincoln fortified Tecate mix.
